Die HUNGER Stützringe werden vorzugsweise bei statischer O-Ring-Abdichtung angewendet. Sie ver- hindern zuverlässig eine Spaltextrusion des O-Ringes bei Druckbeaufschlagung.
Die Geometrie der profilierten Stützringe (Profil L und C) lässt bei Verformung des O-Ringes eine radiale Kraftkomponente wirksam werden, die den vorhan- denen Spalt absolut überbrückt. Dies gilt selbst bei extremen Druckbelastungen aufgrund der höheren Materialstärke im beanspruchten Bereich.
Dadurch eignen sich die Stützringe vor allem bei Kon- struktionen, an denen eine relativ große thermische Ausdehnung auftritt sowie bei elastischer Verformung dünnwandiger Zylinderrohre.
Je nach Betriebsbedingung stehen die Stützringe in den Werkstoffen POM, PA und diversen PTFE- Compounds zur Verfügung.
Support Ring, inside / outside
HUNGER support rings are mostly used with static O-Ring seals. They reliably prevent gap extrusion of O-Rings under pressure load.
Due to the geometry of the support rings (profile L and C), deformation of the O-Ring produces a radial load component which ensures that any gap is totally bridged. The profile and thickness of the back-up ring ensures that even at extreme pressures the O-Ring is prevented from extruding.
Support rings are particularly suitable for applications where relatively high thermal expansion takes place and where elastic deformation of thin-walled cylinder tubes occurs.
Depending on the operation conditions, support rings are available in materials POM, PA and various PTFE- Compounds.
